Louis Tussaud's Waxworks in Pattaya
Louis Tussaud's Waxworks in Pattaya
Wax museums offer visitors a unique chance to be up close and personal with celebrities and historical figures from around the globe. The first collections of wax figures were owned by Marie Tussaud, who started creating the lifelike wax sculptures as a teenager, eventually creating a large collection which she carted around Europe in the 1800s before setting up the now famous Madame Tussauds in London.
Today, her legacy survives in the form of the many waxworks located in every corner of the globe, many of which still bear the family name. One such place is Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks, housing a variety of historical figures, fictional characters and celebrities in Pattaya.
Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks hosts 68 figures currently, and all of them are almost unbelievably lifelike. The museum is a fascinating place to visit, and has a large variety of figures so as to appeal to all interests. In a nod to the host country, 8 of the figures on display are of famous Thais and a total of 20 of the 68 are Asian.
The waxworks separates its figures into 9 distinct zones, providing a neat way to find your favorite figures. The wax figures are sorted into the categories of Pop Stars, British Royalty, Political and Humanitarian Leaders, Horror Den, Batman and Friends, Celebrities in Character (featuring actors in some of their most memorable roles) and Chamber of Secrets, featuring Harry Potter and other characters from the wildly popular series of novels and movies.

The waxworks is open from 11am to 11pm every day, and will occasionally host special events, for example, celebrations of the anniversary of the opening or a Halloween night time event. These add a definite special something to the atmosphere and can make some of the spookier members of the waxworks all the more so!
The waxworks is conveniently located close to many hotels and guesthouses. The building can be found between Central and South Pattaya roads and between Beach Road and Pattaya 2nd Road, close to Pattaya’s famous Walking Street.
