Baan Ruean Thai is an elegant, Thai-style villa set in a quiet village within an amazingly convenient location. It’s a quick walk to Jomtien Beach, restaurants, bars, etc., but the secure village and mature gardens feel miles away, almost like living in the famous Jim Thompson's dreamy world with all the modern comforts.

Stepping into the courtyard of this 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom villa feels like stepping back in time. There is a mature garden filled with orchids and flowering trees, with a rock waterfall on one side and the L-shaped pool on the other. Enjoy the Thai Sala with massive handcrafted, high-polished seating, lights, and cooling fans.
The outdoor garden areas provide welcome shade after the morning sun wakes you up for your coffee. There are full BBQ facilities and many seating areas, making this a great choice for multi-generation families or larger groups of friends.
Walking inside the house, one feels as if walking into a place that designer Jim Thompson would have called home, with handcrafted artworks at nearly every turn. The dining room provides an elegant place to gather, and open shelving allows visitors to admire the massive peacock triptych hanging in the lounge. The lounge features a flat-screen TV and water hyacinth woven sofa with red silk cushions. The many seating areas throughout the house, as well as the multitude of lounging cushions, will have you lounging like royalty.
The six bedrooms are all individually decorated, and each has its own TV and wardrobe. One of the bedrooms is a family suite with both a king and single bed. In total, 5 of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and 1 uses the guest bathroom. The bathrooms are all fitted in the Western style, and all have toilets, washbasins, and showers. The family suite and guest bathroom both have bath tubs, and the master bedroom has a 2-person Jacuzzi.
There are 2 kitchens in the house—one Western and one Thai. The Western kitchen has granite workbenches and wooden cabinetry holding a full complement of glassware, dishes, refrigerator, microwave, and small appliances. There is plenty of space for everyone, with a kitchen island and a pass-through bar to the lounge and dining areas. The Thai kitchen sits at the back and has a gas burner, second set of cookware, and direct access to both the Western kitchen and the BBQ area. The dining area is the focal point of the house, and sets sophisticated atmosphere when you enter the house. The long table seats 12 easily, but you’re sure to enjoy the two other dining and seating areas in the garden as well.
Jomtien Beach, South of Pattaya near Thepprasit Road
Baan Ruean Thai sits in a quiet village a few minutes’ walk from the two places that you’ll want to go: the beaches of Jomtien and Dong Tang Beach and Thappraya Road, a major thoroughfare with easy access to shopping, international restaurants, and attractions like the Coliseum Cabaret show. The “baht bus” taxi route is just 100 m from the villa, so getting around couldn’t be simpler—you could easily be at the Walking Street in 15 minutes. Please note, however, that this secure village is serious about keeping its quiet charm, and guests should respect that atmosphere after 10 PM.
